Description
The String of Horses Inn & Restaurant is a traditional coaching inn set in one of the most beautiful and historic areas of Britain, near the World Heritage Site of Hadrian's Wall, The Lake District and the Scottish Borders. Dating from around 1659, the inn is located in the quiet country village of Faugh, only 10 minutes from Carlisle and junction 43 of the M6 motorway. The inn features many original and traditional features such as oak panelling, open log fires and stoves, leaded diamond windows, brass and copperware, sandstone fireplaces and wooden beams. All guest rooms are ensuite and there is free Wi-fi throughout. Bar is open 7 nights a week and the restaurant is open Tuesday-Saturday (Closed Sundays and Mondays).
