Glencree is a beautiful family run Lakeland stone, licensed guest house perfectly situated midway between the villages of Bowness and Windermere, both busy villages with lots of bars and restaurants. Offering excellent bed and breakfast facilities all year round. It is backed by woodland, overlooks a pretty brook and lies within an easy ten minutes walking distance of the famous Lake Windermere. The ideal place for a break from your daily routine. If you don't know where to stay, please try us, it's not that other hotels in the Lake District aren't friendly, but we pride ourselves on our home-from-home atmosphere. Perfect in so many respects, Glencree is just minutes away from village shops, pubs, bars and restaurants. The Windermere Golf Club is just a few miles away and there is an abundance of museums, country houses, gardens, lakes, fells, walks and countryside to explore. For sport enthusiasts, this is the home of water sports, pony trekking, off site Gym access for a small supplement) hot air ballooning to name but a few and we shall be more than happy to arrange any activities for you. Delicious traditional English breakfasts are prepared from high quality local produce. Vegetarian meals can be arranged and any special dietary needs may be catered for. And, for those special occasions, champagne and flowers can be requested prior to your arrival. Being a family-run concern, we are able to offer a personal service to make sure that your stay with us is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Come and see for yourselves! Two rooms including the family or twin room are up a small spiral staircase (Rooms 4&5) so are not suitable for the elderly or for guests with luggage they cannot manage to carry. There are no facilities for cooking at Glencree and hot food/take-away meals are not permitted at Glencree. We offer Bed and Breakfast only. No arrivals between 1 pm-3.30 pm unless by prior arrangement and our last arrival is 8 pm
