There's so much to see and do

The London Eye stands a whopping 135m tall and boasts a diameter of 120m, in fact it is the largest ferris wheel in Europe and used to be the largest in the World when it was built in 1999.



It's official name is in fact the EDF Energy London Eye and has also be known as The Millennium Wheel, The British Airways London Eye, and the Merlin Entertainments London Eye, but is now the EDF London Eye thanks to a 3 year sponsorship deal.



It stands between Westminster Bridge and Hungerford Bridge on teh South Bank of the River Thames, and boasts 32 sealed and air conditioned capsules, each of which weighs an astonishing 10 tonnes! Did you know that each pod holds up to 25 people?



Closest Tubes are Waterloo which is a 5 minute walk



Opening Times

It is open from 10am-8.30pm daily (with a few exceptions, ie it is closed Christmas day and will be closed for maintenance 7th-18th January 2013)
